ARTS & CULTURE CENSUS / COMMUNITY DATABASE

LA Stage Alliance is pleased to announce the creation of the 2010 Arts & Culture Census / Community Database.  This project has been created through a partnership with TRG (Target Resource Group), in an effort to provide Southern California Arts Organizations with current technological tools to evaluate their current patron base, to communicate with their patrons effectively, and to target new patrons with
up-to-date, detailed information.

Participation in the Census is FREE and open to any arts-related organization in Southern California,
for-profit or non-profit alike.

To sign up to participate in the Census, download an agreement here!

For an updated list of organizations already participating in the Census, click here!

HOW IT WORKS:

To participate in the Census/Database, your arts organization uploads all contact information (mail and email) for all your contacts (patrons, donors, artists, etc) into the Community database.  All information uploaded to the database remains in your complete control, and cannot be used by LA Stage Alliance, TRG or any other organization participating in the Census without your explicit permission. Once the data is uploaded, your your arts organization receives the following benefits:

Automatic cleaning of your contact household mailing addresses quarterly through the NCOA (National Change of Address)

Reports on aggregated demographic, psychographic and geographic information for your contacts across Southern California, and how they fit into the wider landscape - very useful for grant applications, marketing materials and advocacy efforts with government agencies and representatives

Identification of high-yield ‘partner arts organizations’, who serve arts patrons that would be interested in your programming (determined by in-depth patron behavior analysis from the Census)

For the first time ever, analysis of email addresses and the crossover of your email list with
other arts organizations (Note that emails are never shared through the Census project - only compared for cross-over statistics.)

Through a personal account and login to E-Merge, TRG’s online list management tool:
o Analysis of all your patron data by geographic and demographic
attributes at the touch of a button (How many of our subscribers are under 40? etc.)
o Targeting power to mail to the specific patrons who will respond
most effectively to your messaging
o Efficiency and ease in exchanging mailing lists with other arts organizations
with the touch of a button (and their permission)

Again, standard participation in the Arts & Culture Census/Community Database is FREE.
There are no costs for uploading your data, no costs for pulling your lists or making mailing list exchanges, and no cost for any of the research or reporting. (For participants interested in advanced list pulls for mailing campaigns that include third-party demographic information, there will be some minor fees in those instances.)
